HOOPS R US and LA Wild Cats have formed a charitable partnership called the Rites of Passage along with other programs. Rites of Passage is a program for adolescents who are living in long term foster care with relatives or other caregivers (foster homes, small family homes, and group homes). Primary components of the project available to each youth include case management, individual and group counseling, drama classes, mentors educational assessments, homework clubs, martial art/yoga, drums/dance, educational field trips, tutoring, and introduction to value based concepts in a ten month program. The “Rites Module” involves identifying, feeling, and learning the difference between responses and reactions, handling personal & family problems, nutrition, health, etc. Learn more HERE. |

The "Urban Guardians Partnership" is a tax-exempt project of Hoops-R-Us Incorporated dedicated to helping improve the human condition for disadvantaged urban youth. Troubled at risk youth are a global phenomenon which continues to grow and magnify itself during these very difficult socioeconomic times. Though we have begun our mission in the US, our long-term plans include developing a "Partnership" with the entire world! With the creation of the Urban Guardians Partnership and other Youth Initiatives, we have chosen to focus the Sports & Entertainment industries on our programs in order to help generate more media attention and to help raise more funds for those programs that are benefiting youth.
